Mission

BioMIID—Biomedical Microscopy, Immersion, Innovation, and Discovery—is a program created through a Vanderbilt Trans-Institutional award in 2017 that brings together experts from Engineering, Medicine, Physics, and Biology to change the way biophotonics innovation and biomedical discovery are done. Students, postdocs, staff, and faculty come together to develop cutting-edge microscopy systems that exceed the limitations of commercial systems, then deploy these microscopes to biologists within and beyond Vanderbilt University. Every scientist who works with us can utilize our systems and expertise to address their unique biomedical research interests in unprecedented ways.
